Lauren Thacker
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Hey everyone:) I’m Lauren Thacker and I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have been in the medical field since 2014 as an RN where I specialized in trauma ICU at both the University of Kentucky Level 1 Trauma center and locally at PMC. I was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky and I am proud to call these gorgeous mountains my home. Being from eastern Kentucky I quickly noticed the need for behavioral health and how it was so underserved in our rural community, which lead me to my love of psychiatry in 2020. Since 2020 I have been caring for patients across the lifespan with my main focus being on pediatrics in the last few years. I love helping our youth and adolescence overcome their fears and struggles as well as helping our community adopt healthier coping skills to strengthen their families and relationships. I am so thankful to call Compassion Pediatrics my home base and can’t wait to help you fight the mental health stigma together:) In my free time I love spending time with all my fur babies and cherishing every moment with my loved ones. I fully believe life is too short to not find something positive in each and every day.❤️

Kayla Tackett
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Kayla Tackett is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky and has been a nurse since 2014. She spent most of her career working inpatient intensive care and unfortunately saw the damage mental health played on nurses and patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this experience, she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing at Northern Kentucky with a specialization in psychiatric mental health. Being a huge advocate for mental health, her goal is to make a difference by bringing together all the children in the community and breaking the stigma behind mental health. On her days off from work, she enjoys spending as much time with her husband and 4-year-old son at their camper and going boating.
